Late Update: Bolt 2 Finished!

This has been announced in various other places but I figure I'd still say it here for good measure. The Bolt Strikes Issue 2 is finished and will be making its debut at C2E2 2013.  If you like the first issue and wanted to see more of the story, this book will deliver that to you and expand more on the Bolt's universe!

I know I’ve been slackin on redesigns lately but that’s because I’ve been busy and preparing for Avengers. Well in honor of Avengers here’s a few looks of Captain America (couldn’t decide which one I liked best). I never really liked the wings on his head but I figured painting them on the side has been done too much so I added them on like metal protrusions from a helmet? I dunno, they cover his ears and could be where his earbud/microphones are hidden.

"The Bolt Strikes" # 1 is Finished!

I finally finished all the pages for "The Bolt Strikes" number 1, an exhausting 40 pages for the mega-sized issue. All drawn, lettered, sized, and edited; now it's off to the printers so we'll have a fresh-batch for C2E2 this April (now all I gotta do is raise the money to get to Chicago!)

"The Bolt Strikes" Preview

So this is way easier than trying to be all secretive and junk.  I'm currently working on the first issue of "The Bolt Strikes" featuring the title character the Lightning Bolt (aka The Bolt).  These pages are no where near full completion but I figured I'd still share some.  They're all in order but have a few missing gaps in between them, I dont wanna give it all away now.

Mythology Comic

Hey, so this is a short comic I did for my final presentation for Mythology Class pretty much going over the Greek tale of Zeus freeing his brothers and sisters from Cronus' captivity (Cronus swallowed them in his belly),  then inciting a war against the Titans, and finally acquiring the lightning bolts for the first time.  This comic is far from perfect and has a host of problems, but I think it turned out alright in the short amount of time I had to create the thing.  Because of everything I had to do, I only got to work on this for a few days so it was very rushed.  That and also I colored and lettered the entire thing in one night (got no sleep at all).  I want to use this in the future, so when I get the chance I'll fix it up and probably throw in another page between 2 and 3 just to flesh out the story more.

 

And let this be a lesson to you guys, if you're ever doing a comic project that requires a narrative make sure you write the script out first, or it will be difficult trying to come up with words to fit your images.

PS - Also I realize now that I mispelled the word "Throne" as thrown.  I apologize to the artistic, linguistic, and grammar community.

Secret Stash - "10" Pitch

Last Spring I had a comicbook scripting class and our final project was putting together a pitch packet for a possible comic. This was mine, it was titled "10" and was at its base a rip off of Smoking Aces and influenced by the game Assassin my friends played in high school. As corny as it kinda was it was still fun to throw together and create characters for, it would've been an over the top action/explosion/blood/gun fest.

Another pic I found on my computer that I hadn't shown to anybody. An animated style "Dove" from the DC Team of Hawk and Dove. Think it might be cool to have a cartoon of these two brothers, but not with my designs I kinda hate em.

I drew and colored each of these characters individually within a day, that should count for like 20 days.

The Bizarro Reverse Alternate Evil Anti Heroes (enough adjectives for ya?), crossed over from a different dimension to wage war peace and justice!

ART SLAM the 26th of July

ART SLAM somethin or rather

Lost count of the Art Slam days, since I was putting together the very book art slam was helping me draw for I consider myself off the hook for all those unaccounted days. This entire month even several hours of drawing and staying up late and scanning. but what the heck, I'll still throw in a few sketches for this month. August is when I get back on the regular track again though. So no matter what happens THIS month, dont worry about it, its all square.

DONE!!!

Wonderboy Issue 2 is DONE and off to the Printers! It was a fun ride and I look forward to popping out some more issues. Be on the lookout for hard hitting sequel to the story about the raddest super hero you've ever known!
